Policies and Procedures

We vigorously implement following policies and guidelines which can be requested in writing:

  • Best Practice Diagnostic Guidelines for patients Presenting with Breast Symptoms
  • Policies in relation to nurse and nurse specialist referrals and their extended role in treatment and investigation of Patients with specified diseases
  • Equality and Diversity Policy
  • Equal Opportunities for Patients and Visitors Policy
  • Support for the Visually and Hearing Impaired Policy

IGSoC Compliance

TG has developed its (IG) policy and processes by following the Information Security Management: NHS Code of Practice.


TG meets IGSoC obligations by:

  • Preserving confidentiality, integrity, availability and accuracy of NHS information.
  • Completing IG Toolkit Level 4 standard and submitted RA01.
  • Ensuring partner agencies needing access to NHSCFH, complete a validated IGSoC.
  • Maintaining access log of partner agencies using our firewall, reviewed quarterly and no permit access without prior agreement of WCCG.
  • Compliance with UK/EU legislation.
  • Working towards achieving ISO27001,ISO9000.
  • Implementing NHS Connecting for Health Policy policies and good practice guides.
  • Keeping compliant with Acceptable Usage Policy (6.5.2)
  • Meeting the requirements of DOH/NHS CFH policy on personal data leaving England,have the IGOSR guide as part of AUP.
  • Practice Manager/IM&T assistant responsible for the security of TG network connections.
  • Incidences such as unauthorised access managed by security audit and alerts system. Tested quarterly.
  • MIS facilities like caching and filtering, permissions, logging of Internet usage for reporting management/forensic are defined in our AUP, which covers Disciplinary Action for non-compliance.
  • Governance policy is in line with Common law duty of confidence, DPA 1998, Access to Health Records Act 1990, Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) 2000, Computer Misuse Act 1990, HSA 2012.
